Hi and welcome.

I run two Rock-Ola 507 wall boxes in this way.

All you need to know is in the instructions available on-line from Datasync Engineering.

Hi, Thanks for your reply, yes I have been to the site and connected as instructions, it's the iPod to wipod that confuses me I'm not very good with these things do I just connect wipod to computer first? Or just iPod to wipod, told you it would sound stupid.

Are you talking about programming an iPod?

You need to use iTunes.

With your computer log on to;

https://www.apple.com/uk/itunes/download/

This will put iTunes on your computer and a shortcut on your desktop.

Open a new playlist and drag the tracks you want on your wall box into it.
I find it easier to copy them from my main mp3 files into a separate file on my desktop, open it and drag them into the playlist from there.
This file I ensure always mirrors the contents of the playlist, adding and subtracting files before changing them on the playlist.
This means if you want to change a selection on a playlist, as I often do, iTunes can find them easily when you resync the playlist after swopping some tracks, otherwise it has to search through all your mp3s to find the other selections in the list and I've thousands. I find it's a messy process that way.
Only include the total number of selections that your wall box can handle in the playlist.
Though a selection can be a whole CD.
The odd numbers will be "A" sides, the even, "B" sides, on the title cards.
When completed, change the "new playlist" title to the particular code required for your wall box.
Once "synced" connect your Ipod to the adapter.

Print out the playlist so you can make your title cards.

I get mine from here.
http://www.mikesarcade.com/arcade/titlestrips.html

I use the Helvetica font it's a nicer type.

Tip. If your "A and B" titles for one card are by two different artists, put a couple of extra spaces before and after each artist's name.
This will make sure the names aren't too close to the end of the box and that there's a gap before and after the "/" between their names.
Same with long song titles, a couple of extra spaces before and after them.

You can if you wish have more than one playlist on the iPod. You can play the second playlist, by swapping the names round.

I use three iPods as I've two wall boxes and a spare title card magazine. On this model they can be removed and replaced in seconds. So whichever playlist I want to "sync" after changing some titles I give that one the dedicated code and re-name the other two "Playlist 2 and Playlist 3." As all three playlists end up on the three iPods. But only the playlist I want to play on the particular iPod has the correct code.
3rd generation iPods are dirt cheap on e-Bay. The one I'm using here cost £!0.

Although the adapter will only play the playlist with the correct code, you can play any tune in the iPod library through the adapter by just clicking on it.
