I think I have a faulty cartridge in my USC1, but I want to confirm this before ordering a new one. So, how can I test the cartridge while it is out of the jukebox?
Can a faulty cartridge be fixed, or are they just scrap once broken?

Keith,
Any cartridge can be tested--use a meter to read the resistance of both channels--Those should read (+-100) 500 ohms.
What causes you to suspect that problem ?

NO SOUND AT ALL.

I suspect the cartridge because the amp works fine with another input plugged in, and I have tested ALL the wiring from the cartridge socket to the amp for continuity and shorts and its all good.

I am getting 0 ohms reading on the cartridge when it is removed from the jukebox.

Hi Keith,
Well, its really rare--but I have also seen one, of those, that was open also--
I have never attempted it, but I would ASSUME, one might be able to pry it apart, and repair it--gonna be a lot of work--
