So, I just acquired a Motorola SKR121MP

I posted this previously as a reply to the "So i just a squired..." Sticky post but i realized most people don't reread that one and it was probably getting overlooked:

So, I just acquired a Motorola SKR121MP from the side of the road. As I hadn’t read this post yet, I plugged it in and it works with the exception of the turntable turning (suspecting a belt problem). I have ordered a service manual. The exterior is in great shape and is a pretty cool coffee table design. I’m normally a do-it-yourselfer, and have made many minor electronic repairs, but it’s not my day job (Mechanical Engineer) and I want to heed your warnings and I have way too many projects working already that are more up my alley. With that said, I have a couple general questions that I think would help this topic and one more specific to my unit:

1. How do I find a good person to go through this unit to make sure it is safe to use in my area? I would be nice to have a directory of people on here that do this time of work that have been confirmed as honest and skilled in what they do.
2. What will a qualified person do to this unit to make is safe to use? (assuming everything “works” but it’s a ticking time bomb)
3. Is it worth the money to have this unit gone through so that it can be safely used? I can listen to my vinyl on my more modern equipment, but this piece might sound better (tube warmth!) and that is worth something.

Thanks,
Josh
