Auxiliary Speakers 500 ohm

My 2150 has been working very well for awhile now (knock on wood). I decided I wanted to be able to hear it better in my exercise room. Since the boss hates any exposed wires, I had to route the wire through my workshop, mechanical room, storage room and out a closet in the exercise room. Bottom line, it's about 100'. Given the run, I did use 12AWG pure copper wire. Anyhow, I hooked up a small Pinnacle bookshelf speaker and attached it to the amp, set the amp to the "A" position, turned it on and it sounded great. However, when I look at the manual I notice that I have it hooked it up to the CV position as opposed to the 8 Ohm position (the lettering has worn off of my amp). Now, when I read the manual, it seems like I should have picked the 8 Ohm position. Under the adage of 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it', I'm thinking I will leave it as it is. However, I don't know if I am doing something that may cause me problems (to either the amp or the speaker) down the road.
Thoughts?
Thanks
Brooks

Hi Brooks,
If you new speaker is a low z speaker, it should be connected to the low z line taps. If it's a "500 ohm", or "CV" type, it connects to the CV tap.
Best to follow the instructions in the Service Manual--- Ron Rich

Well now, the problem wasn't the question I asked but rather the answer you gave. If you had just said 'it doesn't matter', everything would have been OK! :D

OK, So I switched it to the 8 Ohm side and to be honest, I can't tell any difference in the quality of the sound or the volume (at where it was). Of course, I was able to change the aux speaker switch to the standard position, which increased the power output, and therefore the volume, of the speakers in the jukebox. Anyhow, all is good.
