Help with troubleshoot of NSM Festival

by nagamitsu » Sun Mar 23, 2014 10:19 pm

So I did it, decided to put power to this jukebox. Here's what I got. So the symptom at this point is that on power up, I have a buzz in all speakers. The control centre shows power indication on the 56V, +5V LED lights. So that is a good sign, maybe main transformer is not fried. However, if you see in first pic, there are two LEDs, neither of these light up, which tells me it is not getting all/proper power maybe. My experience with repairing arcade machines, one common thing I will try first is clean the fuses and fuse holders.

Nothing else occurs. Carriage does not power up or move. Lights on the top for the selector buttons etc, do not light up. Just wondering if anyone may recognize something obvious with this. Thanks!

Looking at the pic again, so it is not getting 12V and 16V by indication of these two LEDs. And I'm guessing those two voltages handle things like lights at the selector buttons and the carriage motors. (and probably more)

So close now though!

Don't mind me, sort of thinking out loud here. It could make sense that the main transformer has partially failed? Maybe it is outputting some voltages, but not these two? I had questioned condition of the main transformer, due to the black dust that was around it.

Anyone know if there is a wiring schematic online for a Festival? I still think this may be an easy fix, may either be replacing the transformer, or something simple as fuses/fuse blocks. I just need to figure out where the 12v and 16v for these are coming from and trace it to the PCB board.
