Tom, All three are electrically interchangeable. Cabinet venting is the only consideration. The -2 features a speaker control relay, for the DS models, that were mostly disabled--. Ron Rich

Hi Ron, That is good news. I may keep looking for another week or two. I located the one easily and I don't think folks are lining up to buy them. I hope to locate one closer to home that I can examine before buying, we,ll see. From 1961 to 1980 my seeburg was in the lounge of a luxury hotel on a hardwood dance floor. In the 33 years I have owned it, it has been on a cool ceramic tiled floor. The proper venting is in place, I would guess that's why the tube one I "had" lasted as long as it did plus my service man went over it too. Your advice on a transistorized unit was sound.

There is an old saying---Wise men don't need advice and fools will never heed it. I am not that wise and I am no fool. So I took your "advice".

I'll keep you all posted as to what transpires over the next weeks.

Thank you very much,

Tom

Hi all, as promised I am back to update all on the Speed controller burnout early last month.

I located a TSCU2-B in good working condition from a DS160 being parted out. After some information from Ron Rich who indicated it was compatible with my AY160 I purchased it.

I received it in a timely manor from the Pittsburgh, PA. area, examined it and installed it in the Jukebox.

My 1961 Seeburg AY160 is back to playing the special 7 inch 33 1/3 RPM album recordings. As you will recall I removed the old tube type 33 Speed controller and had the Box playing the 80 45 RPM recordings just fine. The (new to me) Speed controller is a transistorized model. This was done because Ron Rich did not want me to burn my house down with the old tube type. Thanks Ron!! LOL.

I happen to be one of those folks that likes to have "whatever" (when possible) working the way it was intended to from the factory that designed/built it. Even though I very, very seldom put the 33 recording in the Seeburg I wanted it to work and now it does again.

So, a very much thank you to all that helped in this repair and a SPECIAL "THANK YOU" to Ron Rich.

Tom Greer
