AMI H200 Bumper Model - Wire

by Marcel » Wed Apr 26, 2006 10:25 am

We have a AMI H200 bumper model jukebox and we have lost the wiring diagram for attaching a wallbox to it. Does anybody know where we can find such a diagram? I've tried searching the web but cannot find the diagram I'm looking for.

2nd question to go with this. Are there any requirements for the cable used to connect the wallbox to the jukebox? It's now done with a telephone wire, but this doesn't look very nice. Besides that I wonder if this is safe: What voltage/watts are going over this cable?

Marcel.

Wallbox wiring

by ami-man » Thu Apr 27, 2006 1:40 pm

Hi Marcel,

Rowe Ami wallboxes usually operate on 30volts AC, the wattage depends on how much lights are on the wallbox.

The wiring we used to use was a 5 or 6 core cable that had two thicker cables for the ac and ground.

Use a transformer 110volt to 30volt (in the Uk we used to use a PL10B which had a 30 & 50 volt tappings these we used with some types of full view wallboxes that ran off 30 or 50volt)

Connections are common, ac, signal, ac control.

wiring

Thanks for your reply! Until now standard telephone wiring was used, which did work but it looks kind of old. I probably want to use some new wiring so I will think of your answer regarding the type of wiring.

It's to bad there isn't a wireless solution for attaching the wallbox  We are looking for a nice place for it but the cables keep being the problem (and the weight of the device).

Would it be possible you think to let the wallbox run on a transformer itself so we can use a very small cable for the wiring to the jukebox? And do you have any idea where I could found a wiring diagram so I know which cable is which? We've lost the paper it was written on...

Thanks!!!!

A transformer is ok

Hi Marcel,

Yes you can use a transformer located by the wallbox, you would only have to use a 2 core cable to connect the signal and ac control the phone cable would be ok for this. We used to do the above if very long runs of cable were out of the question or if a number of wallboxes were used.

On the original Rowe Ami transformers they stated that up to 4 wall boxes could be connected per transformer. I guess this was from the time that a wallbox was on every table in an American Dinner.

If you let me know which wall box and model of jukebox you are using I will see if I have the drawings, let me have you fax number.
