RCA Orthophonic High Fidelity Record Player Stereo

by Phonomike » Sun Mar 29, 2009 10:26 pm

I am looking for an RCA Victor Ortophonic Record Changer. I am looking for one made around 1956-1959. Doesn't really matter what model. If anyone has one of these please let me know! I have been looking for one for a long time now! Orthophonic is the key word to look for!

There were several different models made in that period.

Stereo was introduced in the 1958 model year, so anything before that would be mono.

Mono units include the RP-205 and RP209.

Stereo units include the RP-211 and RP-215.

RP-208 was a strange unit that played one 12" 33 or a stack of 7" 45s. It repeated the single or last record.

I have an RCA Victor Orthophonic High Fidelity record player in a solid wood cabinet. The model says "HFP" on the back inside area.
I know it was made in the 1950s. This belonged to my mother. I was born in 1954 and remember it from when I was very young.

I am having a garage sale tomorrow and have it for sale. I'll check email in the morning and see if you have responded to this post. Please contact me at
Chucktri3@comcast.net if you are interested in buying this from me.
