Rowe R92/R93 issues

Hello everyone

I have two Jukeboxes that I got in a bulk buy that are having issues. The first is a Rowe R92. mechanically it seems to be fine, selects the right record, picks it up and plays it without any issue. The problem is there is no sounds coming out of the amp (and the amp was tested in my personal other R92 and worked fine). What is weird is that if you unplug the amp from the power supply, the amp will suddenly play the song for a very short amount of time then go off, basically like the residual charge in the amp is allowed to play. The R93 has the exact same issue, which leads me to believe something is hooked up wrong. Any suggestions to fix would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Sounds as if the mute circuit is not being opened- Pull the "mute plug" from the amp, see if you get audio ?

I did that and still has the same issue. Is it possible the issue could be in the mech control board or ccc?

Further testing with known good Mech board and CCC still had same issue. Have not looked into pre-amp setup as of yet, will take a video this weekend for further troubleshooting.

Pull the mute plug from the amp--turn the volume all the way up--You should hear noise if you touch the needle. If no noise, pull the input plug from the amp--you should hear "noise" if you reach down and touch the input "prongs". If neither provides noise, with a known good amp., check the volume control wiring/pot--ONE control MUST be connected !

Here are the videos I made

The thing I notice when I turn both machines on, you never hear that slight "thud" notating the speakers are active. I've done both what you said Ron and still no volume whatsoever.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions on where to go from here, much appreciated!

If you have a Rowe setup for use in the USA, you won't hear a thud, upon power on, as the amp is not switched ! You should hear a big "thud" if you un-plug the power cord and plug it back in---
Do you have a service manual--looks like ( hard to see in vid) that there is no connection to the VC screws on the output panel--also appears the power is set too low ? Ron Rich

Yeah the thud I hear is when I unplug it, not switch it off. I'll look into those things Ron as well t has to be something simple since both have the exact same issue. Appreciate it.

Sure sounds as though you do not have any volume control connected ? As I said--it does not appear as such n the photo--but it's a poor photo of that area-- Ron Rich

Ok sorry for the couple day delay, been pretty busy :D

Upon further inspection, I unplugged the mute plug on the amp, hit the reset button on the amp and plugged the amplifier back in the power supply while a record was playing and noticed that the amp flashes momentarily of an overload then goes out even on the lowest wattage setting on the pre amp wiring "e2" for each side of speakers

Hopefully this bit of information helps :)

What you describe is normal operation--once again didja check the volume control--check wiring from the VC plug on amp to the pot itself ---
What size pot is installed ?

The volume pot installed is the one from the factory, no change out. But I will confirm the size of it and report back.

Is it wired all the way from the pot to the amp ?? Is the jumper correctly installed ? Usually a remote is installed, and the rear of the cabinet wires, to the pot, are disconnected --
