Seeburg HSC1 Mech & CCC Removal Help Needed

by BigBird0000 » Fri Sep 11, 2015 3:13 am

I am having a problem pulling out the mech from my HSC1. When I pull the mech, there is a hanging (spring) bar in the front left (viewed from front) that hits the transformer on the CCC. (see red on pic). I tried pulling the CCC but it does not pull towards the back (clamp bar removed).

Any Hints?

Also does anyone have info on the reworked SBC-100?

Hi B.Bird,
The CCC will pull out from either direction on that model--HOWEVER, if you pull it out the "REAR", of the mechanism, ( where the records are inserted), you MUST remove the spring holding that corner AND be extremely careful, that you do not catch the "power relay" contacts as you slide the CCC past the mech support bracket. You can also remove it from the back of the cabinet--in either case, you should find two, or three screws attaching it to the cabinet side and a "slide-in" bracket on the other end--Remove the wires, and clamp first, then remove the screws, slide it to the cabinet front just enough, to clear the bracket on the other side.
On the SB-100--Which, re-work ?? There were at least three--as that thing "sucked"--
Your "image" does not show up--

Ron,

The slide in bracket at the front of the juke holding the CCC is preventing me from pulling the CCC to the rear of juke.
I found that there is just enough space to loosen the 3 screws holding the slide in bracket to loosen them with a long screwdriver. I still have the bottom screw to loosen. Hopefully that will let me slide the CCC out the back.

Do you have info on any of the 3 reworks on the SB100?

Thanks Ron

OK, I just realized the front decorative wood piece in front of the record racks can be pulled out.

DOH!

Hi Bird,
You done seent da lite !! Ya, that piece, for all others, is a snap-in/out panel !
As for the SB-100--not much--which re-work do you have?--the one with the outboard heat sink was the latest ( and the only one that was any good at all !) I tossed out at least 300 SB-100's, that were never installed--speaking of which--to remove it, you should remove the glue block in the rear, and slide the whole thing out the back==un-plug AM antenna first !!----early blocks were glued in--later ones screwed (from the underside) in--Ron Rich
