Please help-

My wife's family has this Victrola in their living room. I know that it is from at or after 1912 because what's left of the label on the back lists a 1912 patent. Can anyone give me some quick talking points about this model/machine and maybe direct me to reliable information online?

The serial plate was loose in the top compartment. Does anyone know the original mounting point?

According to the serial number guide, the Victrola was--indeed--manufactured in 1912, which means it turns 100 years old next year.

The Victor Victrola site, by the way, provides tons of reliable information about Victor products. When you have a chance, scroll through some of the pages.

As for the position of the manufacturer's ID plate, look closely at the area around the turntable, or near the tonearm with a flashlight. You should see four very small holes that would indicate where the plate was originally located. Most likely it would be on the left side of the base of the tone arm, as shown in this photo of a model VV-XIV that I found online.
