Hi
Got a number of these wallbox units a few months ago only just getting around to testing them, have two working but the final one won't select. I have cleaned the selection keyboard with contact spray, the selection bulb lights when a credit is added, none of the other bulbs light for the first, second and third digits and the bulbs are verified as working bulbs, also more importantly the solenoid does not energise. It just seems if the keyboard is dead, can't see any loose wires or connections in the wallbox. Has anyone any ideas

Just an update on my problem with the wallbox, i tried the three pcb's from a working 507 but no luck with it, voltage readings at various points on the wallbox with the selection problem match up with the voltages measurements on the working wallbox

Clones,
I have never seen one of those wall boxes--but judging from what you wrote, it's a "mechanical" problem--contacts in the keyboard or "start switches" not making ??

thanks Ron, does anyone know whether the polarity invert relay located on the power supply section of the wallbox may be at the route of the problem, to be honest i have never hread of one before and i presume they are easily obtained

Clones,
Is it a"plug-in" type relay ? If so, can you swap it with one of the known good ones ?
If "wired in" it can be checked, and if a contact problem on either type, can be fixed.

Its labelled in the manual as a reed relay(polarity relay), its not a plug in type, its soldered in

Hi
Attached is an extract from the manual showing the board and the reed relay, the only reed relay i see locally in an electronic store are 5volt and 12 volt ones and they don't specify polarity invert

Hi Clones,
I THINK that the words "Polarity invert" , refer to the relay's function, rather then it's type.
Is there any number(s) on the relay itself ?

OK--remove it and replace it, with one from another working board --or read the schematic and test it -- if it tests bad, you will need to find a cross reff. #, and replace it. Ron Rich
