Select O matic 200

Moving into our new home we found a Select o Matic 200 in the utility room , it is built in, it took us a while to figure out what it was...My question is what to do with it? Is it possible to have it repaired? Should we consider selling it?

Since I'm going to be posting questions onto this forum...I may as well try to join others in answering some of them...Here goes....you found an old jukebox "built into" your utility room. You gotta' be more specific. Is it a "hide-away" jukebox ...that uses "wall-box" selector units placed elsewhere?...is your "utility" room an "entertainment" area? The "berg" 200 held 100 records...played both sides...i'e. a "200" play machine. What 's your interest about the machine? Give some details about "built-in". dudge.

The value could be from, "its way too much work to get it out---", to somewhere in the thousands of dollars. This depends on model number and "condition". In order to determine the model #/value, you are going to need to find the ID plate somewhere on the cabinet --usually on the back. From what little info you have given, I suspect that it is a "LU"--which is just a 45rpm player. Yes, it can be fixed (in most cases).

I am hoping the pictures attach if so these pictures are the best I could do....It is not in an entertainment area but under the stair case, it is possible that at one point it was out in the open.
As you can see from the pictures when I say built in it is my opinion the original owner built the cabinet around it.

My concern is that at the moment it is keeping us from taking down the wall behind the built in, because the area is so small where it is I do not want to damage the piece.

By the pictures posted it is more than likely a SL1 library unit going by the control panel.

Alan is right--It's probably a model SL-1, which is a 78 rpm player--I am not real sure how these were produced. They may have been made as a "kit" to be installed as yours is, or your may have come in a cabinet, and was dis-assembled and "custom fit" into the wall. The value, IMHO, today is nill---Ron Rich

Since this is a 78 RPM mechanism, this could be of use to someone restoring a M100A jukebox still setup for 78's and could use the parts.

Any suggestions on how to disassemble it without destroying it? and where I would find someone interested in the component in order to use parts?

Since you don't have any pictures with those lower doors open, I can only assume that the cables from the record playing mechanism assembly must unplug from some of the control units. Once the mechanism assembly is unplugged, you should be able to lift (with the aid of a helper) that entire mechanism assembly off the cabinet.
