Rockola 1478 interior plastic restoration help

by rockola49009 » Thu Jan 07, 2016 6:09 pm

Hey all. What have you used on plastics that brought out a really nice shine? I have that plastic base that below turntable that covers entire visable area of jukebox under the glass. Plastic is perfect but a little dull. I've heard people talking about using vaseline but I'd like other opinions on what would make it really shine.

Thanks in advance.

Joe

I have not done so, but am thinking that any one of the "plastic headlamp restoration kits" made for autos, might work well ??
I don't think I would use any grease type product, as it would collect "dust/dirt" real soon --- Ron Rich

I have heard of people using toothpaste, I have not tried it however.

i just want to give them a nice shine. They are colorful but kind of dull. I guess first thing I'll do is wash with water and a drip or two of dawn. Maybe it's just smoke film or age.

I too don't like the idea of vaseline. I think they make some plastic polishes that put a nice mirror finish without any residue. I'll look into those after I clean it well.

I have always used NOVUS Plastic Polish. I use No 2. It has always worked well for me.
