Joe,
Did you un-plug ALL other plugs from the DCC ? If so, and you do not see 350 volts there, the problem needs to be "trouble shot" inside the SCC--
I do rebuild those units--PM me if you wish to have me fix it--

I guess it would be more useful if I actually -read- all the posts instead of skimming them.

Ron, as usual, is correct about the R-O being in excess of 300VDC.

I have only the schematics for SS160 and LS-2 but the circuits are similar.

I notice that the two 15MFD caps appear to be be original (Siemens?) and it is this area we have to investigate.

You just have two diodes and two electrolytic caps in this area into a 1/8th amp fuse and then the 56K and 36-ohm resistors.

The LS-2 schematic spec's "395" volts at the load side the 1/8th amp fuse.

if you don't have a schematic, here are the SS-160 and LS-2:

If for some reason the D-l fails try the photobucket page. These are lower res. but still OK.

The starting points for your troubleshoot should be the input from the transformer to the diodes and 15mfd caps.
