Hello everyone! Brand new to this forum and the world of vintage radios I've recently purchased a console at a vintage shop Asbury Park, NJ. It's a Sylvania, the model is SC515W. Hoping someone can help me get some background on when this was likely manufactured and any other details. Is this a tube radio?

I've also noticed that it Garrod turntable. I initially thought this might have been aftermarket, but after some research, I saw that some models came with this higher end turntable OEM.

That radio controls are in the center with turntable to left. That entire right side is empty. I see some small brackets that look like they might hold a microphone and wire, but I don't see any holes where wires would have gone through. Very curious what this was used for originally.

Novice to all this so any insight would be greatly appreciate. Thanks in advance!

The Sylania "SC-500" series consoles were made around 1964 era.
Tube sets, and expensive at the time.

That said, they push over 400 volts through their output tubes, and since they're like 50 years old now, I certainly wouldn't expect them to be safe to operate today unless they've been restored by a qualified tech.
Keep using it as is, and it's a ticking time bomb - you'll likely see smoke or a loud bang once those old dried-out capacitors blow from the strain.

The record changers also need overhauling as well, due to the dried-out grease causing issues.
