I'm not sure what Matt meant by "butcherjob," unless he's saying that the original turntable/changer was replaced. I don't know about the changer, itself, but from the photo, it looks like the control knobs are missing, and the panel is in pretty poor condition.
I've scoured a few sites I know of, but have yet to ID the model or the year. Really, though, that probably wouldn't impact the sales price. The market for these mega-large stereos is pretty flat right now. I've seen hundreds from this era posted on Craigslist, for instance, and even at give away prices -- say $50 or less -- the ads remain on the boards until they expire. I'd guess that many, if not most, eventually make their way to the local Goodwill store, or the curb.
There are a few members here who differ about this, but the general consensus is that any electronic sound system from this era--40-50 years old or older--should at least be inspected by a qualified technician before it is used. (SEE:
viewtopic.php?f=19&t=5882 ) This, of course, adds to the cost--substantially, if the unit needs a complete overhaul--and explains why these normally don't sell for much.
