WEBCOR LARK FONOGRAF B-135-1

by JCat3 » Wed Nov 18, 2015 6:20 am

I bought a Webcor Lark Fonograf model B-135-1 that I bought a few years ago and have been fixing ever since. Everything is working on it but I do not have a 33/45 needle and the cartridge is not working. It is a ceramic cartridge but I have no idea the number. Is there another cartridge that could be put in for it? Also what needles would be best for them? Any help with be great

Thanks,

Jason

How many tubes in the amp?

I assume you mean one "tube".
If that is the case, it needs a high-output (2-3V) crystal cartridge, scarce today, but available.

Certainly not a unit to play valuable or prized records with.

Yes one tube I'm sorry. Yea it is for a friend it doesn't have to be perfect it's just something fun for them to play. I did look up the cartridges you suggested and came across this one. Would this one fit and work?

Nope.
And I don't recommend Epray for such things.

That cart is most certain to be dead. Untested? Not a good sign. I would try West Tech Services, found on line. I had a few Crystal carts rebuilt by them with satisfactory results.

It works but not very well at all most likely on it's last days. It has the needle for the 78's but not for the 33/45. I am going to email them thank you for recommending that site. Would they also have needles there or should I go elsewhere?

They might have needles but there are plenty of sites that sell them so look around. Prices will vary...
