I've managed to get my wife to agree to have my two wallboxes permanently installed in our front room. She doesn't use it much as it's mostly "my stuff" in there, like my leccy piano and saxophone.
I fixed a hardwood shelf to the wall over a radiator. We've just had the house redecorated, I told her the shelf will stop the discolouration of the wall above the radiator.
The cables are routed through plastic conduit fixed on top of the skirting board, so are quite unobtrusive.
The boxes have quick-release connectors behind them for both pairs of wires, so I can remove either box at any time as they just sit on the shelf.

As you will see, the connections in the wall unit are a bit of a "snake-pit." The leads are colour coded with crimp connectors and the male/female connectors are configured so that I can't connect the signal leads to the 24 volt transformer. There's also an in-line 1 amp fuse holder in the 24volt supply.
I guess there must be a "tidier" way of connecting everything up, but this will do for now.

I'm really impressed with the reproduction of my 1980s Leak 2000 tuner amp, I bought on eBay three years ago for just over thirty quid. I can channel the audio from my wallboxes, casette player, turntable deck, the TV, DVD/CD player and a VHS player through it, via my 1972 Goodmans speakers.
