Rock-Ola "microphone accessory"

I was working on a Rock-Ola 470 last night and I happened to notice there's a metal plate with a 3 screw terminal strip on the amplifier. Normally this is a blanking plate and the outside volume control/reject button live behind it. This has the terminal strip and a cable that plugs into the amplifier's "microphone accessory" jack.

Obviously it's for paging, etc. through the jukebox, but does anyone have any documentation on it as to tying it in to the outside world?

Looking at this schematic: http://arcarc.xmission.com/PDF_Jukebox/ ... 61-70a.pdf -It seems pretty straight-forward. Pins 2 & 3 carry audio from the kit to the L & R drivers. Obviously, level would be determined in the add-on.

Possible complications are the mute relay and since the mic was mono there would be some set of contacts to place it across both channels when it was active.

Thanks for the info, Rob. I did a bit more Googling on this. There is a circuit board behind the blanking plate, which I suspect may handle the muting/impedance matching. There's also additional pieces that I wasn't aware of: a small box that hangs on the wall and a push to talk mic that plugs into the box. The box also has a volume control on it, so it looks like you can adjust the paging volume separate from the jukebox. Makes sense. I guess it could be fun to play with if I came across one at the right price. The juke already has the remote volume control unit inside, so I need to save up for the actual remote as well (or make one).

Jim, it is a given that the mix c kit will have a preamp and relay. typically these companies used a Turner or Shure "base station" pager mic that had spare contacts for an external relay.

Judging by the signal level at the first driver stage you could probably get full output with essentially any source -minus the tone shaping of course.
