Wurlitzer Jukebox 15" Speaker?

by Mult1 Vintage » Fri Nov 14, 2014 11:36 pm

I have a 3200 OHMS 15" speaker that I believe came from a Wurlitzer jukebox. Am I correct? If so, what model jukebox do you think it was? Any comments would be appreciated. I have tested it, and it does work. See pics.

could be from about the 600 or in that time frame. the rectifier, capacitior etc was added by someone to enable use on something other the original amp it was married to.If you try to use it other than in a proper jukebox, beware of feild coil overheating. remove the rear cover to get to the big coil. If it were me (and I am a tech.) i would not use it with the 110 volt rig.

Thanks for your reply. So are you saying that it is a field coil speaker?

That thing looks like a slopped-up dangerous electrical disaster mess!
Unhook that mess, and use it for what it's intended for.
The Internet is a marvelous thing, however it's not a good substitute for actually being there.

I think I'm going to take your advice and remove the "mess." Thanks for the warnings.
