Rockola 1422 Lubrication / Selector

by BigBird0000 » Sun Dec 07, 2014 7:13 pm

I have a Rockola 1422 (circa 1946), and selector slide assembly doesnt always drop down all the way (it will if I put light pressure from the top when it should be down).... so I need to clean and lube it.

The service manual says Oil. I think 3-in-1 motor oil will work.
When I have the assembly off, I want to make sure everything else is lubed... does anyone have a list of what needs to be lubed, and what to lube it with?

I am guessing oil all pivots get oiled, and moly grease used on the gears.

Anyone have info on lubing this machine?

Hi BBird,
I use 20 wt oil--no "grease" unless I clean off all "old stuff" first--then a LIGHT coat of Moly-Graph grease, on all "sliding" parts---Ron Rich

Thanks Ron.
Do the motors need any oil - I don't see a place to put in any.

Probably--I do not recall which motors were used on that model, but if you can see a bearing, a drop or two of 2wt. won't hurt--
