Zenith cobramatic HFR15R

I have my grandparents old zenith cobramatic record player, model HFR15R. Probably 20+ years ago, I needed a new needle and couldn't find one. I took it to an old Zenith store and the man said he couldn't get replacement needles for it. He said the only option was to glue the little switch on the tone arm to the 78 position, and so he did. I have since found a replacement needle, but it's glued. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I'm assuming I will possibly need a replacement tone arm? Any ideas where I could get one and are they difficult to install?
It's really in immaculate condition and I do love it so. I can't wait to listen to my old 38's. Any info you could give me would be greatly appreciated!

This 1950's player will require more than just a new cartridge now.
It's due for a proper restoration, including having the amplifier gone over to insure reliable performance and safety.
Changer parts are certainly not available anymore, and so a whole new cartridge would have to be retrofitted inside the tonearm.
Additionally, the changer mechanism will require cleaning and proper re-lubricating, as well as checking and replacing the now-dryrotted rubber parts.

That sounds like work that needs to be completed by someone who knows what they are doing. That takes me out of the running!

Do you know anyone in Indianapolis, IN (or nearby) who restores old players and could make sure everything's up to par? I do love that record player! Great memories listening to my fathers old 38's. I want my 3yr old to have that experience.

First off, I've never heard of "38's - records.
There is 33 1/3 LPs.
There is 45's, and there is 78's.

As for local restorers, being I'm in Philly Pa, contact Gary Stork In Michigan through his website http://www.thevoiceofmusic.com and ask him for a referral.

He sends me customers who are local to me, all the time.
