First off,
If you have a Montauban, it is a
"Montauban Astro-Sonic 100", model 4-ST686. The number you posted may be some type of serial number. This unit kicks butt with 100 Watts of
useable music power.

What you're vaguely describing is not a speaker issue, if the radio plays well. Your description of red, yellow and blue cords messing with things (where are they?) give no clue to what they are attached to.
Sound issues from a turntable could mean alot of things...broken wiring, bad cartridge, etc. Trace the wires from the TT to the base plate, and the other wires that connect them to the receiver/preamp.
Not to be harsh, but you are totally clueless as to how to get your "speakers" operating correctly, since they seem to work well in the radio mode. It's not a speaker issue.
And, FYI... Every piece in that unit is a separate entity and has its own repair manual. Turntable/Amp/Receiver plus optional Reel/Cassette deck. Take it to a knowledgeable/professional person and get it checked out, before you destrioy it.
