debating purchasing a Grundig 7028

by derekpowell » Mon Feb 26, 2007 9:43 pm

Hi all,

I've stumbled upon a Grundig 7028 in fantastic condition. The tubes are all in working order, the sound is clear and gorgeous, and the cabinet is wonderfully maintained and polished. The seller is asking $400.

I know that purchases like this are completely subjective, but I was curious what your opinions were on the asking price? Is it completely out of range, or is it a fiar price for a model in excellent condition?

Great radios, but these big consoles don't sell well. Few folks have room for such a large unti, and if it has not been used for some timew it is likely to have caps fail when it is used on a regular basis. Repair is a far cry from working on American sets.

The seller would do well to get over $100 for it.
