Wireless speakers for jukeboxes??

by Mikey4026 » Fri Jan 02, 2015 2:52 am

Hello, new to this forum.
I have been reading posts for sometime though.
I have a 1050 Wurlitzer and a OMT that I would like to play to a wireless stereo speaker to on my patio.
I live in a log house, running wires everywhere would be really ugly.
I have looked at the Rocketfish RF-WHTIB room speaker extension kit at BestBuy. Nobody there new what a jukebox was, I think they were all about 14 years old and the manager was 15. So they were as much help as a bucket under a bull.
I have a 120 outlet available on the patio and would like to have a stereo speaker with a volume control on it.
The GeekSquad suggested I would have to use a smart phone to control the volume?
In the past several years I have run wires out the back door to speakers.
Is anyone doing this or have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance
Regards
Mike

Hi! I can provide you with an idea, but you'll have to figure out how to apply it. You can get an FM transmitter and wire it into your speaker output. The FM transmitters generally use a 3.5 mm headphone jack so you'll probably have to make an adapter. I'm not familiar with your jukebox because I'm an extreme newbie, but it should work. Then you just use any FM stereo you want and tune it into the frequency you select on the transmitter. The range will vary depending on the make and model of the FM transmitter that you use but you should be able to get 30 feet even with a cheap one. I hope that helps and of course there are other solutions.

Here's a 3.5mm adapter:

You can even put a Bluetooth module on it and buy some Bluetooth speakers. I think the range is still about 30 ft.
