Why? Rockola 432

by jakofhrts » Fri Sep 06, 2013 11:03 pm

This a video of what my Rockola 432 suddenly started doing, I can no longer play regular 45's, my whole box is filled with 80 regular 45's, which I have played for years, now nothing, any help to make this stay in 45 mode would be greatly appreciated
Thanks James

Can't really see what is happening---looks like the mounting grommets are bad. Put the turntable back on--does the center plunger fall or not ??

The grommets look completely flattened.
If therefore the motor has dropped, (I can't tell from this angle and it may be because of other reasons someone more familiar can determine) its spindle will only turn on the 33.3 section of the jockey wheel.

I would definitely change the grommets, and check the intermix board under the turntable, unlikely to be the turntable motor but its possible, on machines i have had, you would usually start to hear a scraping noise coming from the turntable motor if it needed lubrication

James,
I would definitely attribute you problem to the grommets. Hint--Purchase ONLY the correct, "white" ones from one of the suppliers listed above. Ron Rich

As I posted earlier--see list above, in jukeboxes--"Used, new parts, books--where to find--"
