seeburg 222 help

Hi everyone. I have a Seeburg 222 with a few issues. First, when I make a selection, the record will get picked up, and then reject immediately. It seems to have something to do with the rear reject button. When I used to push it you would hear a click, and then the record would reject. Now I don't hear anything, and all records reject as soon as they're picked up. Does this sound like a bad switch? Is there a way to bypass the rear reject button so the selections will play. If I do a manual trip the same thing occurs.
Second issue is another strange one. It seems that once the jukebox is on for more than 10 minutes, it stops picking up any selections. It just scans twice, and then returns to the "waiting" position. The 2050 trip tube is lit and seems to be fine. It works fine for the first 3 or 4 selections, then it quits.
Thanks!

Change the 2050--both problems could be caused by that tube. Then go from there-- Ron Rich

Rich,
Replaced both 2050 tubes. Same result. "Instant " reject after selection. No trip after 10 minutes. I'm open to anything at this point. I do have the service manual. Thanks!

Ro,
Are you using wall box with that phono?
Pull the 2050's out, scan and detent the phono using the detent release lever--What happens ?

No wall units being used. 2050's have been taken out. Do you mean the trip release lever? I don't see the detent lever in the manual. I see a detent switch, but no lever. Am I missing this? I'm looking on the lower right side of the selector above the reversing switch, to the right. When I use the trip release lever, a trip happens, but again the record instantly rejects.

OK--same lever--different books define it differently-- BTW--remove and leave the upper 2050 out--
You have a "lack of, or lack of proper oil" problem. Look at the first part of the service manual where it describes the mech operation, and the parts section. Look at the "clutch and housing assembly" page, and look for the "clutch member". Now look at the parts book for the same part. The clutch member fork is NOT shown in the first drawing, but is in the parts book. You will need to free that up and re-oil if. Complete instructions are in my "Seeburg Mechanism Guide", available directly from me, by contacting me off list at
