M100C - a cut wire?

(My usual disclaimer first that I am super-new to all this!)

I noticed yesterday this wire has been cut

Its not the "selection now playing" lamp as that works. Could it be the pop meter solenoid as per a previous post, my pop meter is completely gummed up and worn - would someone snip the wire to avoid it trying?

I now have a nice used pop meter, which I plan to replace anyway. Rich mentioned he remembers it being not too hard a job...anyone done one recently and can comment on any "gotchas" to look out for (and can I do it with just removing the plastic end covers, or is there more to dismantle first?)

Thanks, as always, in advance guys.

Yep--that's a cut wire--If you will slow down and READ, either the service manual ( you do have one ? ) or a copy of my "Seeburg Mechanism Guide"), you will find out exactly why it's cut ! It has absolutely nothing to do with the "pop meter". Ron Rich
