My speed selector on my micromatic just spins and the only way to change the speed is from undeneth the turn table. Can anyone tell me how to fix this ?

Speaking for myself, I noticed mine did the same thing. It seemed that a small adjustment of the idler wheel height corrected the problem.

The knob has lost its lock on the shaft. Unless it has a loose setscrew, it usually needs to be replaced.

On the 1960-1962 units, the knob has fingers pressed against the shaft, with a curved metal leaf spring to hold the fingers in place. The trouble is usually that one of the plastic fingers has broken.

On the 1962-1966 units, the knob has a stud sticking through a curved slot which moves the speed slide. If the stud breaks off, the knob will make a complete turn without doing anything. Other causes are the slide came loose underneath, and the knob is too high because its retainer came off.

On the ones with concentric knobs in a high post, the top knob usually is a push-on spring fit, and the one underneath is held on with a circlip.
