Control Seeburg SMC with Raspberry Pi

Hello everyone,
Is there an solution to connect the J2 connector on the MCU to an Raspberry Pi?
I want to program a hosted site on the Raspberry Pi, where you can choose for your selection.
I want to make it compatible with mobile devices, so you can choose your music from your chair.
The J2 on the MCU is by default for the translator to control the SMC with an consolette.
Please let me know if you know something.
Thanks!
With kind regards,
Mike de Bruin

Hi Mike,
You are correct in your thinking that J-2 is a "selection information input", but I think what you are forgetting is that the input consists of "selection data" not music. Once inputted, the phonograph acts exactly the same ( search for selection) as if the input came from the console keyboard--except it fails to subtract credit. Even the new Gen 2 MCU, that I build, can not overcome that problem !

Hello Ron,
Thanks for your reply. But what I want to send to the j2 connector on the mcu is only the selecton number. Not music, becouse the mcu duos noting with that.
But I saw that it used 4 data lines with 12v pulses but I need more details About that to create an script to let them made the selection.

Hi Mike,
Sorry I miss-understood--
Probably the least expensive way for you to go would be to get a copy of the "Digital Electronic Consolette" ( DEC3/4) Service Manual. That would pretty well explain the process, and the schematic for the "Blue Box" ("Translator"), which is in the Tech. Manual for the SMC phono.. Ron Rich

Hello Ron,
Can you send me the dec3/4 manual by PDF. When I pay you with Paypal?
And do you think I need an blue box? If yes do you know where to find them? Please let me know!
Thanks!
Greetings,
Mike de Bruin

Hi Mike,
I don't sell the manuals--check above for a list sellers--doubt any will do PDF's--all are printed as far as I know-
You probably can figure out how to do it without a blue box--see the schematics.
I only sell the two guides I wrote, and the new Gen 2 MCU I build for the SMC series phono's. Ron Rich

Hi Ron,
I do have already the schametics of the blue box. But is this the right manual that I need for the consolette or dec3/4:

Hi Mike,
Maybe--I would not purchase it, as it is an early manual--I would prefer the DEC-3/4 manual--Ron Rich
