Help Identifying Magnavox Console

by tmcharles99 » Tue Apr 12, 2011 4:54 am

My wife recently inherited a Magnavox console from her grandfather. We are trying to identify the year of the unit, but so far have been unsuccessful. I found a tag showing: Model 2P3300, Finish WAL, and Serial 2959216. It appears that this is the details relating to the turntable, made by Collaro. Collaro was in business from 1932 to 1953, so I assume we are looking at a console from about this time frame. Anyone able to provide any insight? Thanks for your time.

That console's from the late 1960s.
The Internet is a marvelous thing, however it's not a good substitute for actually being there.

Thanks MattTech. Any idea why it shows a Collaro turntable (2P3300) but has a chassic (R21201CC) from the '60s? Could it be that my info about Collaro going out of business in 1953 is wrong?

I don't know where you got your info, but Magnavox produced products well into the 1970s using Collaro changers.
And that changer's obviously got 60s/70s styling to it.
