rock ola help please.

by roger5 » Wed Nov 05, 2014 5:07 pm

Hi, you guys helped me on my other jukebox and would like to ask for help one more time. I have a rock ola 478 that none of the displays work. The 9.6v leds are lit on the the boards, the flasher board is blinking, the hits counter onboard counter is lit but the hits display on top is not working. I have filament voltage to the credit and play selection boards but no display and the coin mech has voltage but doesn't work either. I have swapped the ic701 in the profit meter with the one in the hit counter and made no difference .It still plays randomly and plays good except if there is supposed to be a display it's not working. I have a manual that lists a test for the boards but the displays need to work for that. I guess I'm looking for a common link
that ties all displays together without affecting operation of machine. Thanks in advance and sorry for long post.

Hi
The plugs for the displays are fairly fragile and sometimes the slightest movement can affect them. Are all three led voltages indicated on the power supply, the manual does refer to an adjustment for a the -9.6 which if slightly off can cause unexplained malfunctions

thanks for your reply, yes the 3 leds are lit on power supply board, the voltage from the pink wire in low voltage plug is 9.6v ,was 9.8 but adjusted down with no effect. The only connection I see from the block diagram in manual from hit display on top is to the hit counter board via the ribbon cable, so I would believe the board is bad even though appears to be working, with counter onboard displaying numbers and led lit, but that shouldn't have a affect on credit display or number pad or coin mech not working, unless I'm missing something. I do appreciate the help that I receive.
