Seeburg Matador won't scan and play a record?

by br549autosales » Tue Apr 15, 2014 3:09 pm

Looking to purchase a non working Matador and I went to check it out yesterday. I opened it to add credits and then tried to make a selection, i pressed the selection and it showed 1st digit, 2nd digit, etc, but after I made the selection it did not scan and attempt to pick up the record. I can use the manual scan switch on the inside and it scans just fine but it will not stop unless I slide the stop switch twice to make it stop scanning. Any ideas for what i can look for?

Thanks,

David

Hi David,
You have at least two problems here--My Seeburg MicroLog Trouble Shooting Guide, should be helpful (PM me if you wish to purchase it).
1. Check the scan stop actuator switch that rides under the TMU. If "bent" this indicates that this phono has been "moved" without being properly bolted down for shipment--and probably turned on it's back or side, thus "bending stuff".
2. Check the "Selection Pass switch--it should be in the "no" position".

Now the "please re select" light is flashing. If I press the reset button on the keyboard, it goes off for a moment then comes right back on and continues to flash please re select. It won't let me enter any digits for selection. I read in the troubleshooting guide that I got from Ron that it may have something to do with the black box. I unplugged the jukebox, pulled the blackbox and removed the 2 edge connectors and re plugged them back up, but that really did not do anything. I also read that if the wrong bulbs were used on the lights of the button selection panel, that that may cause this problem as well? Any ideas for anything else I can check to resolve the "please re select" flashing?

Thanks,

David

Did you mean DES and not TES?
