NSM City ES160 Vinyl

by Las Vegas Jukebox » Tue May 14, 2013 12:05 am

My NSM City is not playing.

Carriage scans to record, picks up record, then returns record without playing.

All ideas welcome 8)

Hi
Re City rejecting
If the Carriage has a BS switch it can cause this if it's faulty and usually comes with a high pitched screaming noise when rejecting.
The BS switch is a roller micro switch on the right side lower front of the carrige and is atttached to a plastic holder by one screw.

Good luck

Not sure if you ever got this problem fixed, so I am bumping your thread up, as I'm new here!

I have a City II jukebox and I had the exact same problem, which took me forever to figure out what needed repaired. It is most likely a simple little micro switch, inside the tonearm mechanism (that rolls along the magazine of records), that needs replaced. That micro switch is a REAL bear to replace, as it's a bit hidden inside the mechanism, under a bunch of thin wires that are attached to the tonearm itself.

I have found that it is sometimes the most simplest of things to repair a broken jukebox, but more often than not, no one is there to tell you how simple it can be, which leads to months of headaches and wasted money spent to diagnose the problem. NSM (vinyl) jukeboxes are notorious for this problem and yet, only a few know the repair!

Best,
Chris

Thanks Chris

I'll check it out when I have time. I haven't touched this jukebox since - too many other projects on the go.
