Came across one of these that's picky with what it plays .... For what ever reason .... In the past I fixed one of these by just reseating all the plugs .... This one I tried the same with and in the process something took a shit ..... Now I have no +5vdc or + 9.... What popped ???

Hi Mike,
Well, Whut kan I said??
Hopefully you ( and others) will have learned that one does not plug/unplug, nor "wiggle", ANYTHING, with the power on !
You do not mention which type power supply is installed in that phono ?--Either way, you should remove it from the phono, and check the fuses in it. Also, while out, clean the edge connectors on the PC board--and remove each pin from the plugs, clean and re-form them, before inserting them back on the board. Once that's done, plug the power supply back in and check that all voltages are correct--the three LED indicate only that there IS voltage, not that it is correct ! The supply marked "8 volts(DC)" is in-correct--it MUST be above 9 volts, when using a CDM-12, or either, PRO player. Once your sure the PS is good, re-insert it in the phono--find the plug on the CCC that SUPPLIES power to it, leave it plugged in alone ( you should clean the pins and header as you did on the PS--first), and see if the LED all stay lit--if not, repair the CCC, if yes, plug in, the rest of the power connectors, with the power OFF, one at a time, till you find the one that causes any of the LED's to turn off-- Ron Rich
