This box was working great till the other day when I noticed the mech was not gripping the cd before it started to lift,hence,it missed the disc before the disc gripper closed completely. It was still closing as the mech was in the upward swing .
I noticed a loose connector on the mech control pcb,so I reseated the connector and everything went back to normal until today.
The issue returned.Same problem.
I reseated all connectors,even on the mpu unit.No change.
So,since there are no apparent adjustments (or are there?)to the mech,I'm assuming the problem is in the control pcb??
I have the manuel,but there is nothing about adjusting the mech,only the clamper which goes ontop of the cd.It also seems to be out of time.The cds want to tap it when they are going onto the cdpro.
All of the sudden this unit seems to be out of time.
What should I look at?

If I am understanding you correctly, your saying the gripper fails to lift the disc from the player--
Be that the case, this is strictly a mechanical problem--to be specific, it's a lack of proper lubrication, very common to the RO gripper. I use 20 wt. ND oil and saturate all moving areas of the gripper--especially get some oil "in-between" the two gears--as they are "sticking together", when this problem occurs. Play a few discs after doing this and put your finger GENTLY on the edge of the gripper arm--hold it down, as it closes in on the disc, but let it rise after it closes in-Do NOT "jam" it !! -You will need to do this several times--I have done it as many as 100 times, depending on how "stuck" the gears are. After it is working correctly, add MORE oil, and play at LEAST, 100 selections, that it has to change the disc, to play-- Ron Rich

No the gripper goes into motion before it has a hold of the cd.It starts it's upward motion while the gripper is still closing on the disc.Since it is going up,then the gripper itself misses the disc.It's like off 1 second
Usually the gripper "grips" the disc,then starts it's travel.Mine now wants to start travelling before it has the disc(gripper closed completely)

"Oil" it first !!! It does not need to "play" 100 CD's, to start, just "pick them up-put them down". Ron Rich
