Seeburg USC2 selections do not register

by Mickslash » Tue Oct 29, 2013 11:11 pm

I have a Seeburg 1972 USC2 Firestar and I can not get it to accept a selection. When I punch the buttons nothing happens. I have a service manual and have been trying to figure it out but am having trouble. If I do a battery test on the tormat it will play and cycle through the records but then nothing after that. An ideas if you think it is in the grey box, black box, or control center. Also I just checked the voltages on the Control Center and the –27v was reading only –20v do you know what could be causing that? Thanks for any help.

I know lotza things that could cause that--
I would advise you to turn it off, disconnect J3101 and J3104, from the DCC, and re-test voltage.
If now OK, turn power off again, reconnect either one of the plugs, and re-test--If OK, test with the other one plugged in. If voltage is bad, without either plug installed, rebuilding of the DCC is in order.
I wrote a Trouble Shooting Guide, that covers all MicroLog models--if you wish to purchase a copy, PM me.
ALSO--Please go into your profile and list the city and state in your location section.

I tested with both plugs out and still get a bad voltage. I sent you a PM to order your microlog book, does it go over rebuilding the DCC?

Hi Mark,
It sure do--also, I do rebuild them, and most other Seeburg sub assemblys, built from 1949 to 1984--
