Hello,
I recently acquired a 1964 Rock-ola 425 Grand Prix; its my first jukebox. After buying a new idler wheel it "works," except...
1. It selects and plays the correct record about 2/3 of the time. Other wise it picks a selection which is right next to the one I select, or, goes right back to the "idle" position after making a rotation (the basket which holds all the records).
2. At times it sounds terrific (as good as you'd expect from old speakers and old 45's), usually in the first 15 min. or so. Then, the sound sometimes degenerates a bit, and is prone to just cut out mid play, then start making sound again intermittently.
3. When you hit the free play button inside the cabinet, it only allows a handful of free plays, then stops.
4. Lets say you make 8 selections, it might only play 3 then give up!
I'm a little lost as to where to start tackling these issues. Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated. Also, I'm in San Francisco and would love to know of any clubs/resources in that area. Thank you!
