A quick update frame has been patched with fiberglass filler and sanded smooth ready for painting.
Anyone have any good scans of the interior paperwork?
Removing the anti theft screw from the cash box was a bitch but got there with the use of a dremel
I have purchased a as new 500W stepdown isolation transformer and still compiling a list of parts required.
Slow and steady but getting there.
Hopefully have the box painted in the next few weeks.

Cabinet painted in 2pac car paint pretty happy with the results.
I am after a scan or photo of the service switch decal, as you can see there's not much left of mine.

Any tips on the best method to clean the tormat electrical selector 60 years of gunk has built up inside.

What I do is remove it from the phono, then remove the solenoid, then dunk it in a bucket of hot "soapy" water, then a hot water rinse, then re-wash it using ("sudsy"--if you can get it) ammonia, followed by another hot water rinse--then a total dry, and re-lube, before using.
BTW--good luck on that scan--I have not seen a good "copy" of that in a million years-I just make the--Scan-Off-Play--

So far a very nice restoration job!
After all cleaning is done to the electronics/switches, invest in a few cans of a good spray cleaner, such as Big Bath w/lube, or CRC electronic contact cleaner.
No skimping after all this work!
Use the best lubricants on the mech too - to insure trouble-free use for years!

Matt,
I dis-agree 100 % with you on using a "contact cleaner" with ANY type of residue in it, on this type contact. IMHO, it only causes "stuff" to collect on the points, and will sometimes cause "pitting". As fr "oil","Seeburg oil" was suggested--it is a 20 wt. ND oil--available at GOOD auto-parts stores in Qt. bottles, or at a GOOD hardware store in the 3in One line, as MOTOR oil.Ron Rich

Now Ronnie... there ARE uses for contact cleaner with lube.
Used in the rotary switch assemblies, it keeps "wear" down. - and some rotaries are not available any more.
In enclosed switches, it also helps prevent tarnish buildup.
So there. :)

Yep-on this note, we agree--I use a "cleaner, with lube" (Deoxit-5), on all rotary, and sliding type switches--just NEVAR, on open blade types--

Any specific trick / method to use on sliding switches?

Gotta clean the ones in my Rowe, since connections are horrible.. Spray in from the top? Soak it Sprak it in and work the switch back and forth?

Thanks Ron and Matt I will make up some sudsy , I already have cleaner/ lubricant for the switches.
Ron yeah I'm not getting much response on the service switch decal I will make one in Photoshop but would like to know exactly what was written on the decal.

As for "specific" instructions for cleaning keyboards--see my earlier post--5-6 above.
As for what it said on that paper instruction label on the service switch, I THINK the wording is the same in the I and O manual, where it fully explains the operation of the switch--there were a couple of different instruction sheets used for that purpose--just slightly different.

Not exactly, they changed it several times--I THINK it said something like: " use (either "slide switch", or "push button" switch--whichever type was installed) twice, to stop motor when in this position. Ron Rich
