Hi To All

Just wanted to check in, I am retired looking for a hobby to keep my wits about me, I am a Vietnam Vet that took home many problems. I bought my first tube radio, Its a Motorola AM radio. It works but in only certain areas of the house. I dont know a thing about electronics but I would like to get started. I have been an electrician for 40 plus years, I was a industrial electrician that would install Switch gear and hook up all the equipment in the plants, I have travled all over the states doing this. I dont know how to read a schamatic well, I can get by, butmost of my work would be off building prints. I have seen lots of discouragement about guys trying to fix there radios that they bought, I understand the shock and possible death to someone poking around in there if you dont know what you are doing. I am looking for a place to get started, I own a couple of tube testers that I use to test tubes on my guitar Amps. I have been playing guitar for 50 plus years. I need to keep my mind busy as I have PTSD from Vietnam, I went for help after I retired at the VA and I am attending group there now. So I have it together but looking to keep my hnds and mind busy. The guitar does that for me a couple of hours a day, but looking to add something different. The only other equipment I have is a good meter and enough tools to open a hardware store, But no test equipment other then what I mentioned. The radio I bought for 20 bucks, so it would make a good project. It works now but it only picks up a station or two. I have joined some other sites along with this one, so I am open to all comments and thanks for listening, Pete ps I dont see a spell check on this site so I am sorry about the mis-spelled words
