Have all errors been cleared and the machine re-initialized?

Are all discs clean and in good condition?

Any cold solder joints on mech control board and CCC board/

Are you playing commercial store bought cd's? Or are you using home burned/copied discs?

That's USUALLY the sign that the player is failing, on a unit that "new"--check "disc conditions" and any "error codes".
Also, check "Version numbers" and player type--let us know what you read--

well i got it working not sure which part was bad was thinking it could be the player but didnt have another of the same
so i changed out the mech control box and the player
now is working

another issue on another juke
i have a rowe cd 100 j all is working
the issue on this one is when i make a selection on the keypad or flip the pages i get what sounds like an alarm going off and a small red light on the keypad coming on
i was thinking this might be an alarm of some sort to alert ops if someone is trying to open the lid but i dont see any switchs that might be for this purpose

Rob,
Which mech/mech controllers do you have ?
Red led indicates power is on--no problem-

ok without going out to look at it the 100 j has the shorter one ( i know not the best description) about as tall as the cd player mount

the red light is on on the keypad on the cd 100j and making a noise ( an alarm sound of sort)

If you have the "tall mech controller", with a bunch of led's on it, that is for a CDM-4
The shorter one could be for a CDM-3 or most likely the newer CDM-12, and/or PRO units--most likely the latter as the players won't fit the older frame. BTW, you are not supposed to be able to change types of players, from 4 to 12, without changing the frame--I know they almost fit--but not perfectly, and they WILL cause the gripper to throw discs---
Do you have a "touch pad" or a "regular keyboard" on the J ? If it's the TP, that's the "tactile indicator" that Rowe added to that system--why it' beeping is a good question--it should only do that when a pad is "touched"--'course, IMHO that thing was "touched" from day one--- Ron Rich

well the mech controller i put in the E had the same mounting the guy who brought this here had extra parts but wasnt counting on them to be any good but got lucky i guess
as far as the J it has the soft touch keypad it is making the sound only when touched it is not on continuous But annoying enough ,expecially when setting things up,

i can see the component that makes the sound mounted to the back of the key pad can i just unplug this ??

Yes, you may just un-plug it. It was not on the original design, but was added because "people" (me included) complained that they had no "feedback" when they used that (awful) keypad. Ron Rich
