Wurlitzer 3700 Carousel not moving after selection

by recordrookie » Mon May 12, 2014 10:03 pm

Hello,

First, thanks to Ron Rich and others on this board for helping me get to this point with my jukebox restoration

I have a Wurlitzer 3700 that has an issue when trying to play a record. In normal mode I can make a selection, the selection accumulator will activate or flip the latch, but then the carousel does not move to play the record.

The carousel will move in service mode with scan selected. Nothing happens in load selection. In run the machine operates and plays records. Here is what I have done so far:

I have a service manual with a good troubleshooting guide. Nothing in the guide with this issue
Cleaned dirt and grime out of machine
Cleaned all contacts and accululator board with deoxit
Replaced all triacs in control board
Bypassed BO/AC by jumpering #2,6,7,8
Checked safety switch and other switches. All seem to be working as they should

Any ideas of what to check next?
Location: Michigan, USA

Thanks for the help,
Jeff

I have a 7500 machine, that has similar "guts" in it as your 3700 does. I had a similar problem and found that re-seating the connectors that plug into the carousel was my problem. One of them wasn't making good enough contact for the carousel to commence turning, so re-seating the connectors did the trick. I'd try re-seating all of the connectors that you can find. Might be worth a shot.
