Hope you can help.

I have recently taken ownership of a Rockola 441 Deluxe Jukebox 1967 - 1969.

It is playing slightly to slow. Is there a speed adjustment on the motor or does anyone have any ideas on how to make it play the correct speed. 45 rpms

If its a dual speed turntable assembly it can play singles at 45 rpm and 33 rpm. Usually if a record with a small regular hole in the centre is played it will depress usually red coloured tabs on the turntable and that will move the speed from 45 to 33 rpm these should pop back up after play, if a dinked record is used the tabs won't depress and it will play at 45 rpm, most owners will adjust the speed control to allow it to play both types of records at 45 rpm. If it hasn't the dual speed the grommets for the turntable motor could be hard or perished and would need replacing. Also the idler wheel could be at fault and the idler wheel tension spring, Check out the plate underneath the turntable and post a photo, all moving parts need lubrication but not the idler wheel which might need replacing or cleaning with alcohol

I had a "slightly slow" problem when I first bought my 425. I took the turntable motor apart, cleaned both ends of the shaft and the respective sleeves, oiled it and put back together. That solved my problem. That was 40 years ago. I had a "slightly slow" problem a few years ago. A couple drops of oil where the top shaft heads into the motor housing solved it.
You might try that. Just pop the platter and try 2 or 3 drops of 20 weight/non detergent oil at the bottom end of the top shaft where is enters the motor.

Lets see... 40 years ago, and a few years ago, amount to, not sure, but maybe 38 years?
Why wait 30+ years between lubrication intervals?
That's like tickling the devil, as opposed to doing Preventative Maintenence.

Well Shoot. I never claimed to have the best maintenance routine. I guess I should lube and oil it more. I probably do more frequently than 30+ years. It gets very little use. I power it up about every two weeks or so, or maybe less frequently and run 4 or 6 records through it just to keep it alive. It's all original and does what it is supposed to do. I will eventually start restoring it, when I get bored enough.
