Advice installing grill cloth- Seeburg R

What methods have been used to install new grill cloth on a Seeburg R?
Waterfalls and glass have been removed. Speakers have been removed. Old cloth has been removed and metal backing grill has been cleaned. New gold grill cloth purchased from Victory Glass.

I've replaced a grill cloth on a Sesburg C using 3M Super 77 spray adhesive, but this adhesive is like contact cement and doesn't allow any adjustment once the cloth touches the glue. The C installation wasn't too difficult since I had the speaker board removed, but that isn't an option on the R. I also had someone help position the cloth over the speaker board during the installation.

What types of adhesives have others used? Any special techniques for installing the cloth? Any additional disassembly necessary? Any "long term" results, such as appearance of wrinkles in cloth?
Thanks.

Hi Steve,
It's been 24 years since I installed that cloth on my former neighbor's R. I know that for a fact as she just called me for the first "service call" it has ever needed. I removed all of the insides and laid the cabinet on it's back. I used paper staples to line the cloth up, then either a paint-on contact glue, or the 77--don't recall which--still looks like a brand new installation. Ron Rich

Ya gotta STRETCH the cloth in an even way to make sure it's tight on the board.
Then staple the edges.
A light spray of 3M on the board is all ya need.

Hi Matt,
I would tend to dis-agree here--the cloth supplied by VG, has embedded metal particles--stretching it will cause the metal parts to fray and stick out, thus ruining the effect. Ron Rich
