NSM Es 11 Carraiage will not scan to the left

Hi

Please help!

I have acquired an NSM ES Prestige 11 jukebox and I am having problems with the (Ortofon) carriage. From the rest position it will not scan left either from making a selection or pressing the scan button. If I move the carriage into the centre of the magazine rack it will scan back to the right into the home position.

Removing the carriage and then on activating the reversing switch manually on the service pole, the turntable motor reverses but the drive motor continues in the same direction it was already running in.

I have metered the reversing switch and it appears to function correctly.
I have tried the carriage in another machine at a friends house and the fault remains the same therefore I think the issue might be on the base board of the carriage.

I would appreciate any help I can get on trying to get my machine back up and running!

Thanks

Stevo

Hi Stevo

Have you tried George Sammons? His contact information is found above.

Sounds like the boards that ride on the bottom of the carriage may need attention.

Best
Darrell

Hi
It could be a fault on the Scan FA relay on the central unit or a fault with the control and credit unit, i know its a bit vague but the nsm machines are not very fixable and parts seem to be hard to get

Hi

If I had this problem I would always change both switches on the carriage, they are cheap and easy to replace and often cause problems!

Good Luck Laurence

Thanks for your input guys. The fault transferred with the carriage so I m pretty sure the issue is not with credit control etc. I metered reverse switch, pretty sure I had issue like this years ago and it was a transistor on the base board but wouldn't know which one now. I will peer severe though and hopefully get it running as looks in otherwise good condition...

Thanks again
