CD-100A v4.3 Firmware

by timwds » Wed Feb 05, 2014 5:35 am

Hello,

Just wondering if anyone knows where to find a version 4.3 CCC ROM, or email me a copy. The sticker on my current ROM says v2.1 but under status->version on the machine it says 2.5, just wondering if that's normal. I doubt anyone cares about v2.5/2.1 but I have managed to dump the EPROM if anyone wants a copy.

Thanks,

Tim

Edit: I should probably clarify that I've got a copy of v4.0 but v4.3 is meant to be better(supposedly).

Hi Tim,
V 4.1 or 4.3 are the same, except for default pricing-- I understand that 4.0 and 4.2 were both "faulty"--
If your CCC has the smaller chip ( the V 2's), you will need to add the newer socket also--and there are several updates to the CCC that you probably should do-- I have V 4.3's for sale--PM me if you wish.

Hi Ron,

I have already received a v4.3 ROM from a very kind member. My board has already been upgraded with a 32pin socket but still has the 28pin EPROM installed which is a bit strange. I've got a list of upgraded components(resisters and a few caps) which are the same ones listed in the service manual I've got. I just need to go over the board with a multimeter to verify if they've been changed.

I haven't verified the ROM yet but if it doesn't work out you'll probably hear from me :P

Hi Tim,
Having the larger socket, means one of two things. Rowe did add that into the CCC prior to using the larger chips, probably because they wanted to use up the supply of older ones--or, someone has removed and replaced it with a smaller one--
