Paste wax is fine-- I had a great Uncle that "invented" one of the worlds most successful paste waxes (Treewax).--It's just that I don't think of a jukebox, unless one of the older "classic" furniture cabinets, as needing it ?? Ron Rich

that's a cool story about treewax. good stuff.
a juke doesn't need it and if i left the wood finishing at this stage it is now, it would still look great. the wax just adds an almost imperceptible sheen to it. a warm feeling if you will. however, i don't want the wood sides to look like old furniture in terms of it's appearance as i figure the original had some sort of sheen to it. however, i don't like gloss wood finishes on anything. all of my furniture, gun stocks, etc are matte or satin so that was part of the thinking that influenced the wood finish technique i chose plus the bright work will stand out better.
i reread the image posting directions again and there wasn't anything mentioned that i wasn't already doing.
could be something with a setting or what not on my computer.

so i've started the reassembly of the cabinet which means i'm close to starting work on each subassembly. the amp and power supply are ready for pickup as well. the link below is a picture hosting site with the following photos:
-the two newly veneered sides with front corner pieces attached
-a 3" tall section of the interior bottom of one of the sides (both had to be done) that had to be routed. the new veneer (it's really 3mm thick birch) made the width of the machine slightly wider than original even with the removal of the old veneer. the overall width has to remain original so that the parts fit back together properly. I routed away about 1.5 mm on each side that fits against the bottom "tray" of the machine to bring back the original width. worked fine.

no hiccups so far but there will be plenty i'm sure once it comes time to reassemble and dial in the mechanics. the rectangular piece of colored glass that shines light down onto the grill is pretty scratched up and flaking and my parts machine is missing that item. i'm going to replace that with a piece of acrylic that i can easily remove from the bottom and affix colored gel filters to that i can change to red and green for Christmas for example.

got the amp and power supply back and the engineer ended up replacing a bunch of stuff on the top and under side of the amp. he also tested and installed the 4 NOS RCA 6973 tubes and provided the test results from each one. the large can capacitors had to be replaced as well. he had it hooked up to his equipment and i got to listen to a few songs while i was there. cool stuff. as for the jukebox itself, i haven't done much more to it than the last post other than installing the left side chrome "cheek" piece and the metal bracket that attaches to both sides and supports the key board section. now it's time to begin work on all the mechanical assemblies. i posted a few more pics at the link in the above post.
