Cheney 1916 talking machine

I inherited a Cheney talking machine that seems to work quite well along with all of my grandfathers old records. It is really an awesome piece but I am looking to get a value on it so I can sell it. I have no room in my home for it and would prefer to purchase I table top one with a horn. Can anyone help me figure out what it might be worth? Like I said it sounds great, looks nice and is really just an amazing piece of art.
thanks!

Hi Ellenorre

Cheney Talking Machines, though not as common as some of the major name brand models, such as Victor, Columbia or Edison, do turn up from time to time on eBay and Craigslist.

Based on what I've seen, the price range seems to be about $300-400+ for a well preserved upright model--original finish intact--no major scratches, etc., motor works, all parts are there, plating on internal components is good, etc.

I don't know if you've spotted this, but here's a nice history of Cheney Talking Machines -- http://www.gracyk.com/cheney.shtml

Your best bet might be to put it up for sale on eBay, but restrict the sale to local buyers only, so you don't have to worry about shipping, etc.

If you have a chance, please post some photos.
