New question...

The guy who sold me this juke told me "It takes a record or two for it to get up to speed... the juke tech I had come over told me that is normal for this model juke."

My guess... that is BS. I THINK I am noticing it get worse... it seems to take up to 2 records to get up to speed now... but you know how subjective that can be.

In any case, my guess is that there is a spot or a few that have gummed up with old lubricant, etc... where are the common places to look for this issue?

Thanks!

Ron,

I think you missed my previous "NEW QUESTION" right above your last response.

Yep--that I did !
I aint never seent nor herdt of that before on this model !--It would be my guess that this is NOT a lubrication issue. That being said, the motors on this model are noted for running dry, and ruining the bearings, so, if it has not been oiled, I surly would do so. There is a "lubrication chart" printed in the Seeburg information that came with the phono, and I have re-printed it in my "Seeburg Mechanism Guide" along with my recommendations for doing so( which are different from the guide !).
My guess is that the problem you are having is related to the PCC interface board. There were several "issues" related to motor speed, with the early version of that board. If I were you, I would first oil the mech, and if the problem persists, repair the board ( or send the board to me, for repair).
If you would like to purchase the "Guide", or send me the board, or purchase a "new", "Gen -2" computer, please contact me off list at: ronnnrich@yahoo.com . Ron Rich
